In BCE 167 when An•tiꞋ•ŏkh•ŏs ŏ Ëp•i•phan•eisꞋ empowered Hellenist kō•heinꞋ, Yәhō•shuꞋa Bën-Shim•ōnꞋ Jr. Bën-Tzâ•dōq′ ha-Kō•hein′ to oust his brother, Yәkhōn•yâh′ Bën-Shim•ōn′ Jr. Bën-Tzâ•dōq′ ha-Kō•heinꞋ ha-Jâ•dōlꞋ, and Hellenize the Beit ha-Mi•qᵊdâshꞋ ha-Shein•iꞋ into a Hellenist "Temple", this resulted in a Hellenist Roman Sātrapy Συνέδριον adjudicated by a series of 5 ZūgꞋōt.
The new, An•tiꞋ•ŏkh•ŏs ŏ Ëp•i•phan•eisꞋ-backed, (faux Kō•heinꞋ ha-Jâ•dōlꞋ) Hellenist "High Priest" (Yәhō•shuꞋa Bën-Shim•ōnꞋ Jr. Bën-Tzâ•dōq′ ha-Kō•hein′) controlled and dictated the operation of the resulting Συνέδριον. Thus, the Hellenist senior-majority leader—Nâ•siꞋ—was dictated by the An•tiꞋ•ŏkh•ŏs ŏ Ëp•i•phan•eisꞋ-backed Hellenist sacerdocy (later called Tzᵊdōq•imꞋ). This left the junior-minority leader—Av Beit Din—to the laity (later called Pᵊrush•imꞋ).
The titles reveal the attitudes of the Hellenist sacerdocy Tzᵊdōq•imꞋ v laity Pᵊrush•imꞋ. The Hellenist sacerdocy Tzᵊdōq•imꞋ leader took the title of Nâ•siꞋ, the old title of one of the original 12 tribal chiefs; the unrivaled top authority. Yet, they applied this unrivaled-chief title to a Hellenist Roman satrap—Greek name—Συνέδριον!
By contrast, the Pᵊrush•imꞋ title promulgated the traditional junior member of the Biblical Beit Din, not a Hellenist Greek Συνέδριον!
Unlike a local Beit Din (headed only by an Av Beit Din), the senior position of the Biblical Beit Din hâ-Gâ•dōlꞋ (national Supreme Court) or tribal (i.e. District) Beit Din ha-Qât•ânꞋ was xRoshBeitDin, not a Nâ•siꞋ !
